Seaweed Relocation – Beach Erosion Prevention
On the morning of June 1, 2010, behind the La Quinta Inn & Suites on South Padre Island, Texas. Our efforts to prevent beach erosion have worked. A couple of weeks ago, we reported on EnjoySPI.com that we were working diligently to clean the sargassum (commonly known as sea weed) from the shore, and stack it up in rows along our sea wall, in order to trap sand and form dunes.
