This family oriented event is one of the largest of its kind. Over each of the past eight years more than 160 to 170 boats have descended on South Padre Island to participate in this family and very prestigious event.

Anglers and owners from all over the country come to compete for a year’s worth of bragging rights and the coveted prizes that are awarded to the winners. One of the other nice things to happen at the event is the $10,000 total worth of door prizes given away on both nights. All the anglers have to do is bring in a Red, Trout and a Flounder if possible, but they have to be legal size.

The WAVE

The WAVE is the FREE shuttle system serving South Padre Island and Port Isabel. There are a number of convenient WAVE stops in both communities, however, you can also just go near the street and wave when one is approaching! Normal hours are 7am-9pm. The buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts (ADA Accessible) and bicycle racks. It’s a great, free way to get from one place to another or just sit back and see the entire area!

If you’re traveling by car, it’s easy to get to South Padre Island. Drivers may use U.S. Highways 77 and 281 from the north and 83 from the west to get to the Island. Then, east on Texas State Highway 100. Click here for driving directions

PACKET PICK-UP

Packet Pickup will be at the event on the day of the event at the Hilton Garden Inn South Padre Island, located at 7010 Padre Boulevard South Padre Island, Texas 78597. Registration is located on the deck of the hotel close to the beach. Please bring your photo id an hour before.

SPECIAL NOTE

The Jailbreak will be happening rain or shine. Because of the logistics of planning for a race of this size, we cannot offer refunds for any reason, other than military deployment (with proof of paperwork). In the event that weather creates an unsafe environment for participants, Jailbreak Race Events will postpone the event for a few hours or up to a few weeks, if you are unable to run during the new time you will be eligible to transfer your registration to another Jailbreak event but will not be eligible for a refund.

Jailbreak Racing Events takes great pride in assuring the safety and integrity of the Jailbreak Race. Qualified Emergency workers are stationed throughout the race course to insure the safety of every contestant. The course design and obstacle engineering is completed with racer safety as the paramount goal. Be safe, Get dirty, Have Fun, Do good!

Fashion Fest will kickoff at Clayton’s Beach Bar & Grill at 6pm, with top local DJs spinning House, Rock, International and Country (OK No Country).  And performing for the first time on South Padre Island is one of fastest rising stars in the Electronic Dance Music scene, straight from Guadalajara, Mexico and current resident DJ at Dress Code is DJ Rosanna (Guadalajara/McAllen).
DJ Rosanna is quickly becoming a favorite throughout the DJ scene, landing her first corporate deal with Lamborghini-Mexico and touring big markets including Puerto Vallarta, Cancun and San Diego, this young lady is sure to get the party moving.  

No beach party can be complete without some island music.  Revered as the best Reggae band in south Texas, Personal Use will be performing beach favorites along with songs from their new album, Peace Love Music, which blends different genres including Reggae, Dub, Hiphop and Cumbia.  Do not miss your chance to catch one of the hottest live acts on the scene.  

But the highlight of  the first Que Padre!
