The “Run the Jailbreak” on  South Padre Island will be held on May 4th this year (2013). The Jailbreak is an awesome way to get dirty, have fun, and do good! Proceeds of the Jailbreak go to Teach the Children and the STARS Scholarship Fund. This year, Sandcastle Days has been moved from it’s previous location (Isla Blanca Park) to the North Beach near Andy Bowie Park, behind the La Quinta and Hilton Garden Inn hotels. Sandcastle Days is a 24-year long tradition on South Padre Island that attracts sand sculptors from around the world to partake in a sculpting competition where thousands, children and adults alike, converge on the island to witness the great sculptures and enjoy sand sculpting lessons and great food and drinks.
